“Marley & Me” Movie Premiere
Last Thursday (December 18, 2008), me and my friend went to a special screening of the movie “Marley & Me” starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston at the Yonge & Eglinton Centre. An officemate of mine handed me this free invitation to watch the premiere (which I forgot to ask where he got it…he seems to have all of these free stuff). He said he won’t be able to go and he didn’t want to waste it and maybe I’d like to go with whoever I want to go with.
Lucky, I thought, coz this was the first time I will ever watch a premiere — FOR FREE. We got in… and surprise, surprise…there was a raffle. They were giving away 5 gift bags with, well, free stuff.
LUCKY again, we won!
Weird! I`ve never won in anything for so long.
Last time I won something was back in 2005, it was our company`s Christmas party, this was back in the Philippines, and I won an MP3 player (which I so desired and dreamed of for like forever), and on the same night I was hired as a full time, my boss anouncing it to everyone — which happened, I think, because I did good (REALLY well I must say, I was even surprised at myself) hosting the party wearing a Santa hat with blinking lights and making everyone laugh every now and then. That was hella fun.
OK back to the raffle…so when I heard my ticket number, funny thing was I had a big feeling I was gonna win… so yeah, I heard my number, was really surprised… waved so much like there`s no tomorrow… went down the stairs… half-aware or even half-thinking `where the hell am i going?` but at the back of my mind, I thought I had to go all the way down to the stage and say something (Pinoy kasi ako hahah), good thing a girl approached me right away handing me over the gift bag (which had a Warner Bros. logo on it) and I saw a small Marley stuff toy inside and the book itself `Marley & Me` with Owen and Jen`s face on the cover and some other books about pets.
Lucky no. 3, the movie was great…good. Drama…comedy…all the good and mushy stuff and of course, dogs… who doesn`t love `em?
Just don’t forget to bring tissue
Wow…what a day. That was a good day. A lucky day.
